Thanks to the support of the Fight Infections Foundation and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irsicaixa.es\/en\">lrsiCaixa<\/a>, from the beginning it was committed to research on LONG COVID together with care.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Unit monitors hundreds of patients with LONG COVID. They all form the King cohort: the analysis of their clinical data must serve to understand the reason for their symptoms and to develop action protocols that allow them to respond.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Since 2020 we have already conducted several clinical studies with the ultimate goal of finding a solution for patients with LONG COVID. These are two of the most significant advances we have made:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the CAUSE of the disease<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Conducting research on LONG COVID we have discovered that many of the conditions that people with this syndrome could be related to the <strong>effect of COVID-19 on the vagus nerve<\/strong>, which can be altered after infection.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This nerve connects the brain to the heart, lungs, and intestines, and is responsible for controlling basic functions such as heart rate, speech, or even the act of swallowing.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About its DIAGNOSIS<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Many people with LONG COVID suffer from symptoms such as extreme fatigue or fatigue due to <strong>cardiovascular system disorders caused by COVID-19<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>We found that a specific type of MRI can detect these small alterations that went unnoticed with other tests where it might seem like everything was fine.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since 2020 we have already conducted several clinical studies with the ultimate goal of finding a solution for patients with LONG COVID.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":20739,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[264],"class_list":["post-16409","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-covid-19-en"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.4 (Yoast SEO v27.4) -
