{"id":25710,"date":"2025-12-19T11:48:08","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T10:48:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lluita.org\/vi-jornada-de-salut-internacional-i-one-health\/"},"modified":"2025-12-19T11:57:29","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T10:57:29","slug":"vi-jornada-de-salut-internacional-i-one-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lluita.org\/en\/vi-jornada-de-salut-internacional-i-one-health\/","title":{"rendered":"6th International Health and One Health Conference: a global perspective to tackle emerging health challenges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last November, Badalona hosted the <em><strong>6th edition of the International Health and One Health Conference<\/strong><\/em>, organised by <a href=\"https:\/\/scienhub.org\/en\/\">ScienHub Education<\/a>, the platform that drives the Foundation\u2019s training events, at the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The event brought together healthcare professionals to address <strong>the major challenges posed by global health<\/strong> in a context marked by the<em> successive emergence of infectious diseases.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>During the conference, t<strong>he need for a flexible and coordinated response to threats<\/strong> such as influenza A, Ebola, Zika, Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever, SARS-CoV-2 and monkeypox was highlighted. Experts stressed that the current epidemiological reality is shaped by factors such as zoonoses, climate change, migration and global health inequalities, which create a complex and constantly evolving scenario.<\/p>\n<p>The programme included presentations on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are we what we eat? Overfishing and migration in Senegal and Gambia \u2013 Noem\u00ed Fuster (ICM-CSIC)<\/li>\n<li>Nutrition, health and immigration \u2013 Saba Mohamed (ISGlobal)<\/li>\n<li>The impact of cuts in international aid \u2013 Stephanie Drezer (MSF Brussels)<\/li>\n<li>Emerging STIs, a global issue \u2013 Mart\u00ed Vall (Fundaci\u00f3 Lluita contra les Infeccions)<\/li>\n<li>Climate change and global health \u2013 Tom\u00e0s Molina (TV3)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The conference was framed within the <strong>One Health<\/strong> concept, which integrates human, animal and environmental health as interdependent pillars to prevent and control diseases.<\/p>\n<p>The coordinators of the conference were Dr Xavier Vall\u00e8s, researcher at the Foundation; <strong>Dr S\u00edlvia Roure<\/strong>, head of the Foundation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/lluita.org\/en\/infeccions\/international-health\/?swcfpc=1\">International Health line<\/a>; and Dr Llu\u00eds Valerio, specialist physician (ICS Metropolitan North).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last November, Badalona hosted the 6th edition of the International Health and One Health Conference, organised by ScienHub Education, the platform that drives the Foundation\u2019s training events, at the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute.
