On Tuesday, October 13 at 7:30 PM<\/strong>, L\u2019Auditori de Barcelona<\/a> will host a new edition of the Solidarity Concert<\/strong> organized by the Fundaci\u00f3 Lluita contra les Infeccions, in collaboration with the Fundaci\u00f3 Metalquimia<\/strong>, under the title \u201cMare Mundi. A new horizon for Alzheimer\u2019s and aging.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

The Simf\u00f2nica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunya<\/a> will lead this artistic proposal, joined by guest artists such as Arjau<\/a>, Beth<\/a>, Joan Garrido<\/a>, Mariona Escoda<\/a> and Samantha<\/a>, as well as the Coral Polif\u00f2nica de Puig-reig<\/a>. Together, they will offer a musical journey inspired by the sea, connecting cultures and emotions, all under the direction of Francesc Cass\u00fa<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All proceeds from the concert will be fully allocated to research on Alzheimer\u2019s and aging, supporting the development of new strategies to better understand and treat this disease.<\/p>\n

This event offers a unique opportunity to enjoy live music while contributing to scientific progress in an iconic venue. Collaborative research to advance Alzheimer\u2019s knowledge<\/h3>\n

Leading research institutions are working together to drive progress in Alzheimer\u2019s and aging research, including the Fundaci\u00f3 Lluita contra les Infeccions<\/a>, IrsiCaixa<\/a>, the Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol<\/a>, the Barcelona\u03b2eta Brain Research Center<\/a>, and the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG)<\/a>, combining their expertise to advance new therapeutic solutions.<\/p>\n

A clinical trial is currently underway in individuals with mild Alzheimer\u2019s disease to evaluate whether the drug lamivudine may help slow cognitive decline. At the same time, the project aims to identify new biomarkers to better monitor disease progression and assess treatment response.<\/p>\n

So far, 25 patients have been recruited, some of whom are already reaching the final stage of the planned six-month treatment period.<\/p>\n

In addition to attending the concert, it is also possible to directly support the research through donations, which are fully allocated to the project: make a contribution<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
