Se trata de una iniciativa que, en su sexta edici\u00f3n y bajo el lema \u201cConexiones que salvan vidas\u201d, reconoce y promueve el desarrollo y consolidaci\u00f3n del talento cient\u00edfico joven en Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En concreto, se trata del proyecto &#8216;Marcadores de respuesta post-vacunal en poblaci\u00f3n inmunocomprometida (MARVIC): oportunidades para el desarrollo de nuevas inmunoterapias para la prevenci\u00f3n de la COVID-19&#8217;. Ha sido reconocido con 225.000 euros, un premio que ayudar\u00e1 a mejorar la calidad de vida de miles de pacientes. En este proyecto tambi\u00e9n colaboran cient\u00edficos y cient\u00edficas del <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idipaz.es\/\">Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n del Hospital Universitario La Paz<\/a> (IdiPaz) y el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibis-sevilla.es\/\">Instituto de Biomedicina de Sevilla<\/a> (iBiS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La coordinadora e investigadora <strong>Beatriz Mothe<\/strong>, m\u00e9dica del Servicio de Enfermedades Infecciosas e investigadora de la <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n Lucha contra las Infecciones<\/strong>, el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irsicaixa.es\/es\">Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n del Sida IrsiCaixa <\/a>y el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.germanstrias.org\/es\/\">Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n Germans Trias i Pujol<\/a> (IGTP), explica los motivos de esta investigaci\u00f3n: \u201cLas personas con determinadas condiciones de inmunosupresi\u00f3n o que reciben tratamientos inmunosupresores siguen siendo el colectivo con mayor riesgo de presentar formas graves de la enfermedad por SARS-CoV-2, a pesar de haber recibido pautas de vacunaci\u00f3n contra la COVID -19 con tres dosis y ya dos dosis de refuerzo. Los mecanismos por los que estos colectivos siguen con m\u00e1s tasas de fallos vacunales siguen sin conocerse en profundidad\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEn el contexto de un ensayo cl\u00ednico europeo en el que testamos la vacuna HIPRA como dosis de refuerzo en personas con inmunosupresi\u00f3n, en el proyecto MARVIC queremos analizar en profundidad la respuesta celular post-vacunal de las personas inmunodeprimidas para identificar cu\u00e1les son los factores de inflamaci\u00f3n e inmunosenescencia que les llevan a una peor respuesta post-vacunal\u201d, destaca Mothe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEs muy importante que la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundacionastrazeneca.es\/\">Fundaci\u00f3n AstraZeneca<\/a> haya apostado por este proyecto dado que las personas inmunodeprimidas suelen excluirse habitualmente de los ensayos cl\u00ednicos de desarrollo de vacunas; este premio nos ayudar\u00e1 a dise\u00f1ar mejores vacunas o inmunoterapias que puedan ser m\u00e1s eficaces en estas personas m\u00e1s vulnerables\u201d, a\u00f1ade Mothe antes de remarcar que estos premios \u201cayudan a promover el talento cient\u00edfico, puesto que somos investigadores emergentes de grupos nacionales con un amplio recorrido en el estudio de la respuesta celular a infecciones cr\u00f3nicas, inflamaci\u00f3n e inmunosenescencia aplicables en el campo de la respuesta a las vacunas COVID\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este a\u00f1o los premios promueven la investigaci\u00f3n entre grupos procedentes de diferentes comunidades aut\u00f3nomas, estructurado en un proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n en red, lo que facilitar\u00e1 la obtenci\u00f3n de resultados y generar\u00e1 un mayor conocimiento cient\u00edfico mediante el fomento de sinergias entre los diferentes grupos de investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Un proyecto liderado por la investigadora de la Fundaci\u00f3n Lucha contra las Infecciones, Beatriz Mothe, ha recibido el premio J\u00f3venes Investigadores en la categor\u00eda Vacunas e Inmunoterapias, otorgado por la Fundaci\u00f3n AstraZeneca.
