11/06/2026
On Tuesday, October 13 at 7:30 PM, L’Auditori de Barcelona will host a new edition of the Solidarity Concert organized by the Fundació Lluita contra les Infeccions, in collaboration with the Fundació Metalquimia, under the title “Mare Mundi. A new horizon for Alzheimer’s and aging.”
The Simfònica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunya will lead this artistic proposal, joined by guest artists such as Arjau, Beth, Joan Garrido, Mariona Escoda and Samantha, as well as the Coral Polifònica de Puig-reig. Together, they will offer a musical journey inspired by the sea, connecting cultures and emotions, all under the direction of Francesc Cassú.
All proceeds from the concert will be fully allocated to research on Alzheimer’s and aging, supporting the development of new strategies to better understand and treat this disease.
This event offers a unique opportunity to enjoy live music while contributing to scientific progress in an iconic venue. Tickets are already available, and it is also possible to participate as a collaborating company and become part of this solidarity initiative.

Leading research institutions are working together to drive progress in Alzheimer’s and aging research, including the Fundació Lluita contra les Infeccions, IrsiCaixa, the Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center, and the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), combining their expertise to advance new therapeutic solutions.
A clinical trial is currently underway in individuals with mild Alzheimer’s disease to evaluate whether the drug lamivudine may help slow cognitive decline. At the same time, the project aims to identify new biomarkers to better monitor disease progression and assess treatment response.
So far, 25 patients have been recruited, some of whom are already reaching the final stage of the planned six-month treatment period.
In addition to attending the concert, it is also possible to directly support the research through donations, which are fully allocated to the project: make a contribution.
This concert is made possible by the leadership of the Fundació Lluita contra les Infeccions and the Fundació Metalquimia, with the participation of the Simfònica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunya and the support of BonÀrea Agrupa and L’Auditori de Barcelona, as well as the collaboration of scientific institutions committed to advancing research in Alzheimer’s and aging.
